Comparison of Physician-recorded Toxicities and Patient-reported Outcomes of Five Different Radiotherapy Methods for Prostate Cancer

Background/Aim: To compare five radiotherapy methods for prostate cancer. Patients and Methods: During 2005-2018, the data of patients with non-metastatic cancer were retrospectively analysed. treated high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR-BT); low-dose-rate (LDR-BT); or external-beam (EBRT), including conventionally fractionated (CFRT), moderate-hypofractionated (MHRT), ultra-hypofractionated (UHRT). Results: In total, 496 (149, HDR-BT; 100, LDR-BT; CFRT; 97, MHRT, 50, UHRT) a median follow-up 4.3 years enrolled. The incidence grade ≥2 acute genitourinary toxicities was significantly lower HDR-BT (p<0.001) than any other radiotherapy. cumulative late highest UHRT higher (p=0.005) HDR-BT. Higher symptom score peaks noted 4 weeks after therapy LDR-BT EBRT. Conclusion: Physician-recorded slightly patient-reported outcomes tended to be worse LDR-BT.
